Laurie Markoe

President and CEO

Laurie F. Markoe is President and CEO of Contract Land Staff (CLS), LLC and joined the company in 1998.

Markoe has been instrumental in shaping the strategic direction and growth of the company. As President and CEO, Markoe oversees CLS’s day-to-day operations, corporate administration, operational and financial oversight, business development, client service, marketing strategy, and human resource management.

Variously described as forward-thinking, focused, passionate, and dynamic, Markoe has infused CLS with her own brand of energetic leadership, vision, and spirit. During her time at the helm, she has helped grow CLS into a full-fledged land and right of way management consulting firm with 300+ employees nationwide - all while positioning the company as a model of corporate integrity. Her leadership and determination have enabled CLS to outpace its peers, to grow while others have stalled, to leverage market opportunities in good economies and bad, and to claim the industry’s leadership mantle.

Prior to joining CLS, Markoe held senior positions in executive management, business development and consulting in the petrochemical industry and for the Fort Bend Chamber of Commerce.

Markoe is an active member of the International Right of Way Association’s (IRWA) International Pipeline Committee, former President of the IRWA’s Houston chapter and 2011 IRWA Professional of the Year. She serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors for the INGAA (Interstate Natural Gas Association of America) Foundation, is a member of the American Association of Professional Landmen (AAPL) and The Pipeliners Association of Houston.  Laurie is a senior member, serves on the Advisory Council and is a former board member of the Women’s Energy Network of Houston.  She is also a former board member for the South Texas Girl Scout Council, and she is a lifelong Girl Scout volunteer.
